Heading west by the end of the summer. Looking for other peeps to caravan with, compare notes with or encourage one another. Finding the right community or the right piece of land to start one is the destination. Not in a race. Slow and steady is my pace.

Basic info:
-Homestead hauler (30'), flatbed for tools and toys, solar panels, tiny house with kitchen, shower/bathroom -under construction, presently growing watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and peppers in containers
-18 years in farming, building and mechanics
-18 years living off the grid
-general direction is towards northern New Mexico or southern Colorado, but open to others
-located in western Mass at the moment

Hi Christopher,
Interested in joining the caravan. This is my 1st reply to anyone here, 3rd attempt. Can we have a more private conversation?

Let me know if you are heading thru northern KY on your route - if the group is small at that point on your journey, I may be able to offer a pitstop for a few days in order to get of the road/make repairs etc.

Wow, thanks Cole! That's really thoughtful of you to offer. I haven't mapped out my route yet, but going through Kentucky is definitely a possibility (not to mention it's one of my favorite states) so I'll reach out if I/we do. Thanks, again. Hope you're having a great summer.

Hey there,

I'm Jade. 32F. I live to "return to our roots" through attuning with nature and human essence.

I'm curious about our potential. Sounds like you have the means for an adventure, and an idea of your desired lifestyle. I know from my experience that the key to a sustainable and enjoyable connection is more than a shared dream... it's compatibility among those personalities sharing the material dream. So, I'd be interested in talking more with you about the content of our characters. Theoretically, I am the type of woman for van life, and then creating an organic way of living out West, outside of the normalized rat race. Feel encouraged to send a message my way to discover more.

My email is: airballoonsart@gmail.com. Selfie photo included here.

Hi,
Thank you for your interest, but I'm just looking for like-minded people who are planning on heading west to find community or people already out west interested in having like-minded people join them. You might want to try the permaculture singles section. Good luck! All the best.

Hello fellow vagabonds! If you're coming through SW Colorado and want a place to park, I'd love to have you. I just posted here about a more medium to long term opportunity, if you're interested. To be honest, if all you're looking for is a stopover, then some local BLM land is basically the same thing as my property and might have better views (and I'll give you a recommendation specifically where those spots are, if you want). But if you want some company with a little bit of local knowledge, come stay here!

Awesome! Thank you so much, Josh. SW Colorado is on my radar so I'll definitely reach out when I/we get closer to your neck of the woods. Like I mentioned in the original post, slow and steady is the pace, but west is the place...where the deer and the antelope play.

Congrats on aquiring some land for yourself. I like your open-mindedness and the no-group-ideology-required policy you're keeping. Good luck with whatever the future holds. All the best!

If your route takes you through the Ozarks and you're interested in visiting a large, 50 year old intentional community, you could come through East Wind Community. PM me if you're interested and I could host you for a short visit (the contact info given in our website is more geared toward those interested in longer visits and potential membership). I manage the gardens and there's a lot going on in late summer. We're using Landrace Gardening methods to breed more adapted strains of crops for our conditions.

Thank you, Richard. I'm sure there's a lot I, or anyone, can learn from a community that's been living cooperatively for that long. I briefly looked over the East Wind website. I'm going to sit down and read it all more thoroughly and certainly let you when I get closer to that part of the country well in advance. Thanks for reaching out and offering a potential short visit pitstop. It's greatly appreciated. I'd love to chip in and do some work while I'm there if that's a possibility.

Hi Emma,
Thanks for any NM farm contacts. That'd be great.
Yes, I'm the same person, but I'm not her Chris, haha. She's the nice older lady who I've been renting some land from to park my tiny house. You must be the Emma who was considering parking your tiny house here, too. I hope you find a good spot! Sorry our paths didn't cross when you visited. Travel safe if you decide to relocate, too!

Haha Laurenthia,
I like your enthusiasm. Thank you for reaching out. The Puget Sound is beautiful. You're lucky to have land in such a special place. If I make it that far west, I'll certainly let you know. Good luck with what you're creating.
