I'm also rather interested in these and would assume that they'd be suitable for Zone 6a (Halifax) with some extra attention?

I was in Ontario 2 weeks ago and saw my brother Jeff's gardens. He's just south of Lake Ontario. It has a climate somewhat milder than Detroit and Buffalo. He has hundreds of things growing on my parent's farm that has sat largely idle for 30 years. It's a huge improvement.

Most of our species are not fit for those conditions . I was nearly carried off and sucked dry by the mosquitos that plague Winnipeg during the brief summer.
