Probably the ability to lay out various earth works and tree guilds. A few structures as well.

Google earth + sketchup is the combination I use for modelling buildings, glasshouses, terraces, swales, shelter belts and generally mapping my irrigation lines, power cables, septic lines etc.

I use a Google Earth/Maps background in Power Point that has been overlaid with translucent hexagons of various sizes for my planning.
