Any permies looking for friends in Egypt? I am slowly building up a network of vegans, gardening enthusiasts, and sustainable/environmental infrastructure development folks. I'm based in Cairo. Please get in touch!

Starr,

Do you speak arabic?

I'm telling you, I don't speak Arabic. Given addiquit technology I am sure I could show you I don't speak arabic. Please put down the car battery. The dam holds? No need for that wind turbine just yet.

Wara' Lawrah shatta urunfil. Sch'y'ah?

I'm asking if you have tried planting chilies bay and cloves. I'm presuming you've poked around a spike market or two with some locals.

Hi Starr. I am an Egyptian living in Sweden. Due to start a course in permaculture design in the fall. i am very interested in taking permaculture back to Egypt and when i googled that i came up with this post. How is it going along? The possibilities are endless i think. It would be so sad to lose the treasury of knowledge held by egyptian peasants. would love to hear more from you.
regards, salma

Great to hear from you Salma. I am no longer based in Egypt, but while I was working there for a year I was able to dig into the permaculture community in Cairo. Check out the links below:

Try 100 things. 2 will work out, but you will never know in advance which 2. This tiny ad might be one:
