um. Permies in Missoula are you still alive? (I feel like I am in a ghost town. The posts I can see are from 2010). I am wondering if you have moved this conversation to another area? maybe I should look up some Homesteading peeps…Do we have some homesteaders in Missoula? Transitioning the hard way over here. Pallets, humanure, RV with, no water or power… so! If anyone wants to have a conversation that involves me saying I plan on doing that one day…Welcome back to the Permies site! Information on the internet is easy to do. Meeting people that don't think I have lost my mind, that would be fun. I wonder if you are in the neighborhood and I don't know it? I live up the Nine Mile. I am going to head over to Youtube and check out the videos on how to turn a dessert into an oasis, ha ha. I am working as a nurse, i volunteer at the Roxy, children are out of the home (took my heart with them maybe), married, have goats, chickens, just planted trees, constructing animal stuff out of pallets, working all the time it seems. My husband is assembling his greenhouse, we are in the winterizing mode I guess.. Best place to buy fruit trees? best place to get sawdust? Best way to get water in the winter? Best way to store water in the winter? I will stumble around here looking for homestead information; I do think that local information is going to carry with it the kind of wisdom I need. I am all about alternatives but sometimes the adaptation and learning curve is just too expensive. This part of Montana has definite characteristics and the landscape is what I want to work with; not make the landscape work with me…

Have a fantastic week now that the sky is clear! Namaste, Lisa

My wife and I live up here. We'd be interested in other Permies. Perhaps we can begin circling the wagons and conspiring towards profitable permaculture incubation projects here in the area.

I just joined the forum recently. Nice to meet you!

Hey Lisa and Jesse, welcome to Missoula and to the forums! Some of us from wheaton labs will be in town for Vandana Shiva's seminar and lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016. See the thread for that about possibly meeting up if you're interested!
