Hello Peter, so glad to have you here at this time. Perfect for me because we've just had a prolific
mushroom season (for this dry area) and I was hoping to have some identified from photos if possible. I'd like to eventually learn more mycology and fungus identification for the sake of hunting
wild edibles.
The seashell shaped mushrooms seem to devour the oak around here.
I also wanted to ask about the network of mycelia in the soil and their ability to communicate. When there was a large wildfire near here all of the pine cones closed up tight and a friend of mine told me this was because the network of mycelia in the soil communicates messages across huge distances and plants react to possible impacts. Is this something you can expand upon?
