If you stuck some leghorn eggs under a brooding red island red, would the resulting chicks imprint on the mother and follow her around? Since the leghorn and other white egg layer hens have totally lost the instinct to sit on their eggs and these breeds have been incubator raised for 100's of years, do their chicks still retain the instinct to bond to a mother hen or will they wander around at random after they are hatched like they do when they are raised under a heat lamp.
