Hello Everyone.

Been wondering this sense i heard about Hugelkultur on TSP being from Central Texas we have lots and lots of mesquite trees.
Has anyone used mesquite in HugKul with any success? is it a good wood to use?
Thanks!

If you can't use the mesquite for anything else (barbeque, fine-quality craft wood, etc) I think it would be a fantastic wood to use for hugelkultur.  I wish we had a few more mesquites, they are such wonderful trees.  We only have a handful and none are producing pods presently.

Thats about all the trees we have. There is a lot just down the road from me that was just tall grass that the owners let go and it's full of mesquite about 6 feet high.

Yeah, they'll do that, kind of like the cedars.
