Thanks for the help. That's what I wanted to know. By the way, I had one more question if you don't mind? What is the correct amount of light, humidity, temperature and air flow for proper fruiting? Thanks aging
I understand that. I was just wondering if the BRF and VER. Cake would fruit oyster mushrooms. I didn't know if you had to have straw or shreaded cardboard for the mushrooms to fruit. I was going to do bulk amount of jars. I seen pictures of them fruiting from jars but I don't understand if the BRF and VER would allow them to fruit by its self. I think they we're fruiting them from grain in the jars I seen pictures of. So I was confused if the BRF and VER would do the same.
I was wondering will a fully colonized jar of oyster mushrooms in Brown rice flour and ver. will fruit if I take the lid off or knock the cake out whole and set it in a clear tote with perlite and distilled water at the bottom? Or does the BRF and Ver. Cake need to be added to another substrate? The last one I did I fully colonized cardboard and added it to pasteurized straw. Can I just bypass the cardboard and straw and just fruit them from the BRF and Ver.?
Thanks for the advice on the picture error. I'll try googling it. The other issue I ment how do I get rid of post that I no longer want to watch. I have so many to scroll through just to find my recent ones. I wanted to take off the ones where I replied to other people's post so I don't have some many to search through. Kinda like deleting old emails from your inbox so you don't have all the old ones in your way. Sorry I'm having a hard time explaining it thanks aging!
Why does some pictures say error when I try to upload them and others allows me to load. I've been adding pictures with my cell phone , now when I take one with it it won't allow it to up load says error. Also how do I delete old post or forms under my recent post that I know longer want to see under recent post please help thanks
I use fluorescent plant lights I get at Wal-Mart. Just make sure you keep them1-2" above your starts as they grow. If not your have the same problem you are having now with the starts stretching for light. I've been using this method for years with great success. Here's some photos of starts I got growing for my summer garden.
Yes I tried that seems to be doing better. Thanks for all the help guys. Do any of you guys know anything about adding gypsum to your substrate for quicker colonization?
Yes I put several small holes in the bag. When I look at it up close it is white throughout. Little fine hairs connect ing it all together. The pictures don't do justice for it. My phone don't take the best pictures. I tried to add the photos of the BRF and ver and cardboard spawn I started. It had a mild sweet smell and the stuff was caked together tightly but the images would not upload kept saying error. The problem I think I'm having is, the bottom 1/4 of the bag has to much moisture. also since I brought the temperature up to around 75-80.degrees it seems to be growing faster. I'll try to take a better picture of the what I believe is mycilum growing throughout the bag.
I'd try a type of bean plant ( legumes ) they take nitrogen out of the atmosphere and store it in their roots. When they die they release the nitrogen back into soil. To looseing it look into some kind of root vegetable. Turnips would be a option hardy easy to grow and big seeds. Don't be afraid to mix cover crops together. Just hand sow them evenly across three soil your trying to amend. I used both legumes and root crops at the same time works well.
