I did find some locally but would love some more. I will search online as you suggested!

Oh, probably. Yes. I read an article where they were referred to as "paddles" so I just accepted it without doing more research. Luckily I met a woman who had them on her property, and now I have them on mine!

I am looking for Prickly Pear paddles. Any Missoula or other MT permies who can help me out? Thanks!

Thanks for your great questions. Right, I guess the point of the forums is a DIY approach! My thinking in wanting to hire someone with more experience is just so that our design is really good, and I don't screw it up! : ) I have a friend in Albuquerque who is heavily involved with permaculture there and she had always advised reaching out, and even hiring someone, with design work--which is common in that area I guess. But, I also have been meaning to take a PDC for quite awhile, so perhaps now is the time to do so, and, along with engagement on the forums, eek out our design from there. Thanks for pointing me toward your guide! I will definitely check out it out as a starting point.

I am an aspiring permaculture practitioner (and very excited about the forums!), however, I have a project with which I would really like some assistance: developing a design for a half-acre property in Missoula. My husband and I just moved onto the property, and while I have done some successful work on our other home using permaculture principles, this one is much larger and we have grand list of elements we'd like to incorporate.
