Flower buds that are forming look like hibiscus

The first plant is a Mulberry and the second might be Groundsel tree, not too familiar with that plant.

How tall is the first plant? It looks to be shrub like, wintergreen is a ground cover. The second plant is in the family Ericaceae, which includes blueberry, huckleberry and salal.

Take a look at Genista monspessulana. Looks similar, native to your region.

I second buckthorn. Leaves, bark and plant habit all look right.

Steve,
That is definitely white ash. I am also in SE PA and burn a ton of it as firewood. Emerald ash borer is killing them so dead ash is everywhere.

Does it get yellow flowers? If so it might be Laburnum anagyroides

Yellow flower looks like Rudbeckia hirta. Second set of photos the first plant is a Rhododendron, next is clematis, last is Weigelia. In another set is a Boxelder, then an Ash tree and then a burning bush. Last pic in the last set is a Hibiscus.
