This fall, had my stove cleaned and checked, and he also changed the door gasket. Apparently, it is not right . Sides are turning black, and allowing alot of air to enter stove. My burn time is about 2-1/2 hrs. This stove is our only source of heat. The manual says to use a 7/8" gasket, and the only one I can find around here is 1 inch. Tomorrow it is supposed to be a warm day (for central NY), and I am going to clean the stove pipe and stove, and would like to change the gasket - which I am not a pro at. My question is - can I use a 1 inch in place of the 7/8 inch gasket? And if so, do I stretch it out a little. Please help - thank you.
