Oh yeah! Hey dude! You live in Austin so it would make sense for us to meet up at the very least.  So I work in pre-cast concrete - which is more of an oddball trade then it might seem, and everyone I work with has a different background, but through different work I’ve become friends with woodworkers and welders and blacksmiths and that sort of thing.  My close friend is a talented painter, he does lots of painting I guess but it’s the sign painting that’s more of the craft side I suppose.

I don’t want to step on any toes, but maybe just tag along.
I also live in Austin, and I have been searching for an opportunity like this.  I have been working as a concrete mason for the last 4 years, pre-cast concrete, ornamental pretty things and such.  I have, however, been spending my time reading quite a bit about some of the projects you are interested in.  Namely rain water collection, and composting toilets, although my real passion is masonry construction. I am actually quitting my job at the end of August - and hell or high water I’m going to go somewhere and do something with all these tools and books.  I am part of a group of friends in the Austin area who are all craft or trade people, and we have pulled of some very remarkable projects.
I would love to get more of an idea of what you are looking for specifically, and if I would be a good fit for your goals.
