Hello,
So my favorite tree that has been in front of my house for decades has to come down due to concerns with a sewage pipe underneath the roots. My dad and I picked up a few branches from when they were cutting it down but we don’t know the first thing about “cuttings” or how to even go about bringing a tree back to life with branches. Of what little information there is regarding bringing a tree back with these cuttings, a fair deal of it is conflicting. Things I do know for sure is that there is no harm in using the rooting hormone, that they should be planted somewhere with very indirect sunlight, and that the soil should be consistently moist.
So the main few things I need some advice on are how to pick ideal cuttings, do I cut all of the leaves off the cutting, and general tips on how to get it to survive.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.
