This is an interesting thread that I just found. I have two beefsteaks right next to a Sioux this year. One of the beetsteaks finally --after a long wait--set flower and now has about 25 fruits on it. The other one blooms but will not set. The Sioux on the other side is finally setting with about 20 fruits. So what the heck is it with the other beefsteak? Maybe as someone said it's just the variety.
