SALUTE from Isanti, Minnesota!
Now I feel like I'm part of that corn field skit from the old Hee Haw show.

Just giving shout out to everyone here in the land of 10,000 lakes. I'm north of the Twin Cities on a few acres in the middle of the shire. Curious to see if there are others in my community.

I went solar last summer, and so far, I have not regretted it. Hoping to go off grid some day when it becomes affordable.

I enjoy foraging, collecting vintage recipes and heirloom seeds, gardening. Other interests include energy-efficient home improvements, sustainability, and energy saving technology. I'm curious about rocket stoves, hand pump /deep wells for cold climates, and tiny house traveling/ living for retirement years.

I'm trying ween myself off propane and plastic. Every little bit counts, right? Does anyone know of a good carpenter or electrician in this area? 😆

Peace be with you all.

Hello Permie community.

I'm seeking a companion who is a good fit for me. Someone who is mindful of sustainability and climate change here in the land of 10,000 lakes. It's challenging to find a match on the dating apps. So many folks seem to be obsessed with status, or riding "Harleys," or golfing, or just disconnected from things like preparing or preventing climate change. I'm looking for someone...different.

I'm an old soul living the simple life in the shire. I'm like the female version of Frodo, (and maybe a wee bit cuter) and I'm looking for my Samwise Gamgee. A homebody by nature, I occasionally will get a wanderlust for spontaneous adventures. Frodo and Sam were really better together than they were apart.. Sam kept Frodo grounded and kept it real. And he was a fearless spider slayer. 😉

Readers caveat 🤔  Before you keep reading these are some deal breakers. I am NOT a good match for conservatives, evangelical, polyamorous, anti-vaxxed, or hard drinker types. Still reading?

About me:
I'm divorced, heterosexual, monogamous, and vaxxed. Short like a hobbit and plus sized, I'm a woman who is comfortable in her own skin at 50 something.  I'm a left leaning Gen-X tree hugger, bee protector, 13 years sober, open-minded Christian, justice seeker, and a believer in science. I am also a gun owner (with zero interest to carry). Everyone is complicated now days, and I am no exception to the rule. If MBTI is your thing, I'm an INFJ. Not a tomboy but also not afraid to get my hands dirty. For what it's worth, Belle is my favorite Disney princess. I see myself as a cross between Belle and Janeane Garofalo. 😆

I'm a caregiver to my mom, a grandmother to my grandkids, a property owner, and employed FT as a graphic designer.

Home is a modest house on a couple of acres surrounded by farmland and woods in central Minnesota, just north of Minneapolis. This is my forever home. My homestead includes a deep well and some attributes that would be desirable in case of a zombie apocalypse (kidding, but not really). The zombie apocalypse is more or less a general term for different what-if scenarios.

Lately I've been daydreaming of:
Road trips, camping in a Scamp, tiny home designs vs chicken coops, vertical gardening, raccoon proofing bird feeders, Bison well hand pumps, rocket stoves, water barrels, and what retirement might look like someday.

I'm more Mother Jones than keeping' up with the Joneses. Things that I'm passionate about are the environment, tribal sovereignty, social justice, human rights, reproductive rights, separation between church and state, just to name a few. I'm always looking to connect with others in the community that have like minds and like hearts.

Friendship is the basis of any relationship.
I gravitate towards deep thinkers, readers, nerds, makers, artists, philosophers, liberal minded veterans.
Ultimately, I'm seeking a partner, companion, and best friend for LTR preferably close in age. Sunsets here in the shire are amazing from my deck but also melancholy when there is no one to share them with. I appreciate someone who is handy and enjoys a good project, but can also chill and dive deep into conversations. A long distance relationship is not my goal. I'm divorced and have no desire to be married again.

Things I like:
State parks, music & art, festivals, street art, old card games, museums, vintage recipes, old movies, repurposed things, historical places, books including children's books and, of course, Tolkien.

My unapologetic choices for media are NPR and Reddit. I'm not a big fan of other social media platforms. I prefer for relationships to grow in person rather than online, but it can be a place to start.

I believe music can reveal a lot about a person. This list scratches the surface of some my favorites: bluegrass, hard rock, metal, electronic pop, oldies 40s, blues, folk, indie, reggae, hip hop and even rap. Artists include the Beatles, Gillian Welch, I Draw Slow, Chris Whitley, Ozzy, Aretha Franklin, Metallica, Billie Holiday, GnR, Chris Thile, Chaka Khan, Dean Martin, Loreena McKennitt, Led Zeppelin, Steel Drivers, Chvrches, Stevie Wonder, Tesla, Ice Cube, and Lizzo.

If any of this resonates with you, send me a "purple moosage" with an introduction and a photo. Let's see where the conversation takes us. I'm a hopeful skeptic... I believe things that are lost or hidden can be found, including needles in haystacks and rings that epic stories are told about.

So what do you say Samwise Gamgee?
Are you out there?

Best of luck to everyone who is searching for their someone.
