I use a barrell system, the one approved by Pima County in AZ. It's designed to separate out the urine but the system was designed without women in mind so the pee cup only catches about 2/3 of women's pee and about 90% of male's pee. So it's a little stinky but not intolerable, at lest to me. That is, as long as I keep it stirred at least once a week. Based on the previous discussion there's apparently a benefit to urine inclusion. I use sawdust. I've used both straw and wood chips but have not found they compost nearly as cleanly as sawdust. I mostly use mesquite sawdust.
