Hey there,
I live out in the country here in Oregon and absolutely love it! However, all the trade offs and cautionary tales being posted on this topic ring true for me as well. There's sort of this assumtion that moving to the country entails living a simple life. That's whats attractive to most people entertaining the dream. It's not really true unfortunately. It's not simple but, if you're up for it, it's fun and rewarding. As a carpenter, (I am too) your skillset will help out alot and, for a tradesperson, grow naturally as you meet the various challenges that come up. If you want to, GO FOR IT! Save up some money and jump! Remember: It's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done! If your hearts in it you be fine and won't regret a thing. have fun!

My partner and I will be available ,and are looking for, a longer term caretaking position in Southern Oregon. I have been involved with different aspects of the building, landscaping and gardening trades for over 15 yrs. and have been PC Design certified since 2006. She has worked in early childhood education for years and now holds a position as a wilderness guide working with at risk youth. We are looking for a work trade situation within reasonable driving or distance to Medford but are open to all possibilities. Thanks!

Couple looking to buy a used yurt. We are seeking something in the 24' range and but are open to all possibilities. Both of us have building skills and tools so even a "fixer upper" of some sort would be fine. We are located in southern oregon but are willing to travel to pick something up if the situation is right. Can offer cash or trade/barter. Work trade could include helping you with a new or exisiting permaculture project (we're both PC design certified), a building/ landscaping endeavor, and/or childcare. Let us know if anything comes up. We both have flexible schedules. Thanks!    e-mail: caleyinlow@gmail.com
