Delayed Update. After laying dormant last year due to unforseen events my experiment is finally planted. I will update over the next few months as they progress.

Honestly I haven't got that far yet.......I am thinking berries on one of them for sure......want to try melons, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, marigolds, herbs.......I have more wants than space I'm afraid. The beds are 13' long and 6' between the stakes. I am thinking they will be 4' high by the time I get the manure and top soil in place.

This is my first of three sample beds that I am trying this year. I work for a large lumber company so most of my material is Oak and Pine downfall mixed with some larger felled trees that I cleaned up off our new property. I am having a some top soil delivered, our soil in this part of our property is mostly clay. I plan to cover what can be seen here in manure then top with soil. Any advice is certainly welcome.

99% of heat treated kiln dried pallets made from southern yellow pine contain no treatment other than being heated to an internal core temperature of 130 degrees for 30 minutes. Very few exporters use fumigation (methyl bromide) for export pallets; however, these pallets are shipped overseas never to return to the states.

I have the same Japanese Honeysuckle issue here in middle TN....it is everywhere!. I just cleared a ton of it out this morning and was wondering the same thing. I am in the middle of building my first test Hugelkultur bed. Like you I want to be forever rid of this nuisance and I certainly do not want it coming back.
