Hi guys!
This is my first post here on permies, I have been reading the forum for around a year now but felt like it was time for me to post something now.
So I'm planning a small guerrilla garden plot in order to grow some perennial plants, jerusalem artichokes, rhubarb, berry bushes and perhaps a few fruit trees. I'd like some input on how I could improve the plot and if you guys have some additional plants that I should consider to plant. I live in western Finland so we are quite high up north (On the level with the middle of Alaska).
I have attached a map of the plot and marked where I was standing with the red dot, the thick blue line is the creek and the thinner blue lines are ditches, I guess when it rains these ditches channel all the water from the road and hill to the east in to the creek right through the plot, should I do something in order to keep the water on the plot or no?

The Thermal grow season starts 22-27.4 over here, but it is a bit warmer over here than usually, so we have started most of our seeds. I hope that the soil defrosts within two weeks enough to start planting the jerusalem artchokes, I can buy them for around $7/lbs over here, so I can plant a bunch.
