Hey Joe, thanks so much for being part of this forum!

I remember finding your book in my public library years ago and being intrigued with the concept of "humanure." I still have yet to experiment at all, but my goal is to one day live with my wife and 5 children in a yurt (or several), and composting as much waste as possible will be an important aspect of daily life. I'd be interested to know what you, or anyone else, would have to say in regard to starting out small with children in a more urban environment, in preparation for eventual off-grid living.

Thanks for the feedback Timothy! I have a Patreon set up for a podcast project (not permaculture related) that I've been doing as well, and have been thinking that may be a good way to bring a few different things together, both for community building and funding.

I'm in Michigan myself. Nice to "meet" you here!
I recently joined the permies.com forums and have posted my introduction here, and would love to make some connections with other like-minded folks, as time allows us.

I thought that since I've only just introduced myself so far, I'd also share something that I did a few years ago, when I was writing for an online eco-conscious/green lifestyle publication that is now defunct. I republished the article last year on another very interesting and experimental crypto-oriented site called Steemit (anyone else heard of it?).

I've had interest in permaculture for many years, and wrote this article: https://steemit.com/permaculture/@lkisaid/permaculture-primer in an effort to distill some of my own understanding, and make some permaculture concepts a little more understandable to those who aren't already avid enthusiasts!

But I'd still love some feedback and critique from anyone here that would like to offer it! I'd like to expand on the article and find other ways to monetize it (please let me know if you have any ideas there as well), as I'm really not very active on Steemit and would rather put it on my own personal website or something.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I can see that I'm going to enjoy posting here, and will hopefully be sharing some of the things I've been working on very soon.

Hi there! My name is Evan, and I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone before I start posting anywhere else on these forums. I don't remember exactly when I first found this site, probably many years ago when I was looking for some good information on alternative building, rocket stoves, and permaculture, of course! I've been aware of it for a while, just never signed up or engaged in the forums, though I have listened to many of Paul's videos and podcasts, and have read a few threads here and there.

Personally, I've been utilizing various permaculture practices in my own gardening efforts for the last decade or so, and plan to build both a rocket mass heater and a wofati sometime in the near future (hopefully). I've been experimenting alone for a very long time, and would like to get more involved in some like-minded folks, either online or IRL...or ideally, both! I really love the LIC idea that Paul brought up in a podcast I listened to recently.

I'm a father and husband, artist, musician, vineyard keeper, beer brewer, web designer, and podcaster...and I'm sure I'll share all sorts of links to things I've been part of, created, and/or had some sort of interest in over the years, as I get to know you all here. I've lived in the Midwest most of my life and really want to do more with homesteading, permaculture gardening, wild foraging, mycology, food preservation/fermentation, natural building, and eventually beekeeping and animal husbandry.

Nice to "meet" you all!
