Hi,
I am new to all this, have done a fairr bit of reading but decided to just get in there an try building something.

So utilizing materials that I had available I wanted to build a rocket heater to heat my garage up. For occasional use when I am in there.

I used an old extinguisher for the feedbox, and a section of old sprinkler pipework for the burn and riser pipe.  It may be a little too small as its only 2" internal diameter.

I did a trial burn and even uninsulated it seems to burn pretty good. smokey when I put fresh wood on but cleaned up after a minute or 2.

I am not concerned about the metal corroding, for the amount of time it will be used, and the fact that its 8mm thick its not an issue.

The plan is to fit this inside the cylinder of an old 50ltr trolley unit. then duct it through and out the garage

I do have access to a load of hydrant pipework which will be around 8" internal diameter, would that be better?

like I say I dont want a nuclear reactor just something that will work and take the chill out of the garage with no smoke.

any thoughts or advice would be greatly received

thanks
