thanks heaps guys we are just coming in to autumm here so it will start getting colder as shiitakes like it cooler it should be good
I was worried bout humidity cause it will cool and I thought you need warmth to produce humidity

hi everyone

I have 2 shiitake grow bags coming and am going to make my own fruiting chamber

1. starting with a clear 50 liter storage tub
2. drill holes 5cm (2") grid around sides  5cm (2") from bottom of tub
3. fill bottom with wet perlite
4. put bags on bricks to keep them above perlite
5. going to open tub once or twice a day and mist and fan it

how can I keep humidity up ?

am I missing anything?

I have no idea how I could do it, I am a ventilated quadriplegic and spend lots of time on google

would be great to get into but I need a mycologist friend

I'm new to fungi and am fascinated
I was thinking of getting a 120litre plastic bucket and filling it a 1/4 full of wood chips then inoculating it with oyster or button mushrooms

just wondering if this would work if it kept it hydrated

just my first idea of growing mushrooms
