I don't know how but, wormwood has escaped my view up until this point. I decided to get dairy goats not long ago and have been up to my ears in permie threads about worm and parasite control, & on the list of herbal remedies sat wormwood. Prior to this delve into holistic medicine I had no knowledge of the plant other than it's use in absinthe.

I started gathering my ingredients for my all natural dewormer and couldn't get my hands on this illusive plant until I found an herbalist in town. He had so much more than wormwood to offer, (He had wormwood dont worry) he also had KNOWLEDGE!!!

It can be used as an insecticide, for digestive problems and disorders, helps with liver and gallbladder disease, worm infections, can be used topically for bug bites, and so so much more!! Not only all of that, but it is a perennial that can be grown in zone 7b (where I am)!

Now I cannot stop thinking about wormwood an how to get everything it has to offer out of it for my Homestead and my family!!! If you know something I don't about this incredible plant please clue me in, especially if it has to do with obtaining the plant itself. I have a feeling this may be a little hard to get my hands on. Have a blessed day and wormwood on!

I found a recipe for an all natural anti-parasite treat online and got very excited about it. Until I couldn't find a single other recipe like it anywhere else, so of course I was skeptical. I know that garlic can be used in chicken's water to prevent worms, sickness, and promote egg laying but I'm not sure about everything else and with goats. So, I figure I'd post it here and see if anyone can shed some light on the subject.

INGREDIENTS:
-1 cup raw organic pumpkin seeds
-1 cup flax meal or flax seeds
-1 head of garlic (about 10 cloves)
-2-4 inch tuber of fresh ginger
-2 Tbsp of raw organic honey
-2 Tbsp raw organic black strap molasses
-1 tsp ground cloves
-1-2 tsp ground cinnamon
-5 drops lemongrass E.O
-10 drops sweet orange E.O

Pulse all ingredients in your food processor or blender until sticky enough to form 1-2" balls. Roll in flax meal and stick in the fridge to use right away or the freezer for later use. Break up and give 1 ball to your goat 2 days before and after a full moon (4-5 days total) .

Alright, what do we think? Sounds good on paper right? Worth it?
