Just throwing some ideas out there. Nov-2023. I bought from Alibaba 3 pellet machines and 2 shredding machines without electric motors. $900 total. Shipping was $730. So, about $1730 total. Also bought on sale 5- 6.5 hp engines on sale from Harbor Freight for maybe $125 each as it is rare to have electricity anywhere I would want to use these, especially 240v AC.
The plan was to keep one of each and sell the rest. After using the machines, I sold all but one shredding machine, making a significant profit and the remaining machine completely free.
I found that to feed rabbits, pellets are completely unnecessary. My rabbits love the shredded forage and the effort needed to pelletize is a waste in my situation. Note, the forage cannot be too wet when run through. I at least partially dry it (if need) beforehand, then dry it thoroughly afterwards on black billboard vinyls on the driveway. Storing it in sealable 55 gallon barrels and/or a large plywood bin just outside the rabbit garage.
