Is there anyone on the list near Northern Virginia who wants bamboo seeds?
Sorry, I don't know the species name but it is a tall green species with a 30+ year seeding cycle. Suddenly the grove is yellowing and dying, and thanks to your blog (and examining the plants!) I now know why. It has been a dry-ish spring here but there is no spotting or holes or dust on the leaves. Many many leaves dropped which are in place to try to help the plants pull through.
Another grovelet elsewhere on the property died during a winter (didn't seem to go to seed). It is still re-establishing itself 5 years later.
I welcome any suggestions about how to help this grove survive.
