Can anyone recommend good reading sources for fruit trees.  I'm interested in information pertaining to botany, hardiness, arbor-culture, production, etc..  Thanks for any guidance.  Rickster

Can anyone recommend some good nurseries in the Montana area - or even in the PNW - for tree varieties of all types (fruit, wildlife, etc.)?  BTW, I'm already aware of the Montana DNRC nursery.  Thank you!

Definitely get P. Stametz, _Mycelium Running_.  It will set you straight on all this terminology.  It is well worth the money - which isn't much!

Hi Permies,

Can anyone suggests a source for a couple of tons of manure without chemicals near Condon, Montana - or somewhere between Missoula, Kalispell, and Lincoln?

Thanks for any help - Rickster

PS, I'm cross-posting this inquiry, but if that is frowned-upon, just let me know and I'll remove the cross posts.

Ran and Hubert, thanks.  Ran, the one you described is very reasonably priced... but a motor fromt he same company (1 hp, 1300 rpm) is $300.  I suspect I can find a less expensive motor, to be sure, but I figger'd I would post this update just so folks know.

THanks TCLynx.  Plastic auger.  Hmmm.  I don't like that idea so much.

I'm looking around for meat grinders that can use manual or electrical power and will hold up for personal use.  Can anyone suggest a good brand/model?  Thanks for any help.  Rick
