Yes, we have a small garden with a lily pond, two apple trees, a cherry tree, berries, elderberry trees, a walnut and a hazelnut tree, many herbs, a raised bed, amongst several other plants, trees, veggies and flowers. Although our small property could be optimized to emcompass more diverse flora and fauna, I currently prefer spending more time on the evaluation of our possibilities to move to a larger site in a country that offers more affordable real-estate. Preferably a community.

In other words, Germany's climate is wonderful for gardening, but finding suitable properties has become very challenging in the last years.
By the way, following the advice of an ecologically oriented construction company, we renovated our house with wall heating systems using tons of clay. We also used a lot of wood fibre insulation, for example for the roof and the outside walls. For the more moisture sensitive parts of the house we used lime materials.
