I'm an animal caretaker, and feeding has always been a bit of a headache for me. But ever since I found out about a machine that can make pellet feed, I’ve been considering getting one to help ease the pressure.
Watching videos of people pressing all kinds of materials into pellets is surprisingly satisfying too! It's a bit of a stress reliever, honestly.

I’ve been looking at[u] their website https://www.kawise.com , and the equipment seems pretty solid.
Has anyone actually used it? Would love to hear how it’s been working for you and what kind of results you’ve gotten.
Not a dumb question at all. I’ve got ducks in a pretty similar setup and totally get where you’re coming from. A half acre is plenty of space for them to stay happy, even without a full pond. A kiddie pool will do the trick for splash time.

Food scraps work just fine, just like with chickens. Mine go nuts for leafy greens, peas, cooked rice, and veggie bits. Just skip anything too salty or moldy. The sunflower fodder is a great idea too, they’ll love that once it’s going.
You’ll probably want to supplement with a decent base feed, at least until your system is rolling. We started using a pelleted duck feed and it made a big difference. The ducks waste less and actually seem to prefer it. There’s a good write-up on why pellet feed works well for ducks here if you want to check it out. webpage

Other than that, we also toss them handfuls of chopped grass, clover, and weeds from the yard. They’ll nibble whatever they like and ignore the rest. Jumbo Pekins are eating machines but also super sweet. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan shaping up.

That sounds awesome, and honestly pretty close to how we feed ours too. If they’ve got access to pasture and some foraging, you’re already off to a great start. Soaking grains with ACV is a smart move, and the kelp adds a nice boost of minerals.
We do something similar with kitchen scraps and whatever produce we can get from local spots. Never hurts to ask around. Breweries, bakeries, even fruit stands usually have stuff they’re happy to give away.
Eggs and shells are gold too. And apples in the fall? Our pigs go nuts for them.
The more variety you can give them, the better. They thrive on a mixed diet. You’re clearly giving them a good life and good food. Keep it up!
