I was just about to purchase an internal urine pipe kit when I found this chat. I’ve had a Separett villa for six years, and only now is the drain flow slowing. I keep a hand-held bidet by the toilet, and very carefully, without getting it into the poop bucket, use it to wash myself (I’m female). That way there’s always some water flowing through, and it also saves on toilet paper. I keep a wash cloth near the toilet for drying. Once a month, after I dump the poop bucket, I do the vinegar trick. I’m going to attempt to clean that internal pipe first and may not need to replace it. Fortunately, the rest of the drain pipe goes straight down because I’m on the second floor. I’m hoping that will do the trick.
Here’s another trick. Even with all the careful washing, the bowl itself is starting to get stained from the urine. At Home Depot, I got a can of semi gloss Rustoleum 2X white spray paint that adheres to plastic. I do a light coating of paint once or twice a year just on the interior of the bowl. It’s a good match so you don’t even notice it. And it hardly peels unless you really scrub it. By then, it’s ready for a second coat. I’m hoping to get another six years or more out of my Separett.
