York county is going to be cheaper for similar land. I'm originally from Hanover. Have lived in York and Lancaster Counties.

We have one plant of vates kale that has flowered two years in a row. We didn't cut the flowers just collected seeds when they were ready. After it set seed I pruned the dead stalks back to green areas and it started leafing out again. I'm hoping it made it through this winter. It'll be the start of its third year.

I tried growing potatoes under wood chips last year. I harvested 2 potatoes per plant each about 1 inch across. I will never do that again.

What about fire? Propane torches are made for burning weeds.

In my opinion domestic cats should be kept indoors. If you can keep them in a barn fine, but outdoor cats kill more than just "pests". You will lose songbirds and many other beneficial animals to an outdoor cat.
