I plan on starting a thread soon, but right now I'm focusing on building a small cabin to live in. (Using traditional, mainstream methods unfortunately, due to time and money constraints)

So obviously, I have just got the ball rolling and the amount of questions I have would take days to type. lol

For now I'll have to keep observing/planning my land and watching relevant threads here on Permies.

If you ever have a project you need help with, be sure to let me know and maybe I could make the journey up sometime. I know it's not always feasible to have short term, unexperienced help, but if the situation arises, I'd love to trade some hard labor for your knowledge.

I'm pretty much a blank slate. lol

I know this thread is old, but I'm curious as to what ended up happening, Gemma.

I live about 30 miles south of little rock and just joined wwoof. I would love to know if you have been setting up a farmstead and need any help in exchange for knowledge.

Beautiful property and beautiful location, ma'am. If I had the money I would snatch it up in a heartbeat. I am currently trying to exit the hamster wheel by beginning the process of living off of some land that my father has. 18 acres down here in Sheridan, about 30 miles south of Little Rock.

Pops and I just had a conversation the other day about how beautiful that neck of the woods is and how we'd enjoy farmsteading there.
