This must have been covered somewhere in the forum.. but.. are there any problems with just surrounding a regular woodburning stove with cob or lime plaster etc, i'm not planning on changing the flue etc, just gaining extra thermal mass for longer heat output.

Thanks, Matt @ Henbant

Inspired volunteers needed (ideally couple/friends)

We are a small permaculture inspired/ecological farm between the mountains and sea in North West Wales. Our project is young and we need help this summer

Food and accomodation will be provided but as we are a young family we will ask that you should be willing to cook your own meals and entertain yourselves (it's not that we arn't social and friendly, just that we spend most evenings negoiating small people to bed!)..

We need help developing spaces for craft and teaching within our woodland, developing our gardens and in renovating farm buildings as well as occasional help with our camp site and animals (help with children and cooking though is just as useful!).

We really want people who are willing to stay for more than a fortnight (ideally longer), and ammusing hard working optomists. Accomodation is in a static caravan, its in its later life but has beautiful views and a woodburner. We ask that you work 9am till 1pm five days a week, but we are very flexible..

Havea look at our website for more idea of what we are up to.. www.henbant.org and also note that much of this aspirational and some of the time the farm resembles more of a building site than the permaculture eden that it will one day become!

Hi All,

We have around 40 left over big round silage bales, Id like to use them as a base for a large windbreak and hugelkulture bed around our veg growing areas, we would strip off the plastic, line them all up and then add a bit of topsoil over the top.. We would mainly be planting a edible hedge in there, possibly with some edible ground cover as well, but the windward side is also the sun facing side.

I've never posted on here before, and I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Warmest and best,

Matt
