We bought a home that has a little under 2 acres which seems to keep me pretty busy. I've read so much about all the stuff I plan on doing to the place. Now I realize I just need to add a factor of four for the amount of time it takes to get it projects done. We planted a lot of lavender last summer and plan on putting another four or five hundred plants this coming summer. We have been wanting to have a lavender farm after visiting a lot of them in Sequim Washington a few years ago. I'm am lucky in that my soil is the best I've ever seen. I've dug post holes down three feet and it is black loam all the way. A lot different that when I used to grow my garden in mostly clay. The fruit trees went in at the beginning of fall with more to come early spring. I plan on getting some bee's this spring as well which I'm very excited about. Winter project is to build out my greenhouse and of course plan my garden. I'm thinking about doing mostly heirloom varieties with some hybrid varieties as a backup. Last time I did heirloom tomatoes I had terrible luck but it was in a different soil and all my friends had a bad tomato year as well. I'm hoping this year will be different. I'll add updates as things progress and bounce ideas off the group if everyone is OK with that.

Hello all, I'm glad I found this group. Looking forward to learning a lot. I've been reading and listening a lot about this subject for a while now. Just got a place where I can start to do some of it and can't wait to learn more of what works and doesn't at our house. The video chat/hangout sounded like it could be fun.
