We enjoy playing 3-13.  This is a game that requires 2 or more players.  The instructions may sound hard and long but it is really easy.
The object: be the person with the LEAST points at the end of the game.
Here are the rules:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_thirteen

Three thirteen is a variation of the card game Rummy. It is an eleven-round game played with two or more players. It requires two decks of cards with the jokers removed. Like other Rummy games, once the hands are dealt, the remainder of the cards are placed face down on the table. The top card from the deck is flipped face up and put beside the deck to start the discard pile.

The picture posted by Jerry Ward, " check out this sawbuck (of sorts) ", is what I've always heard called a "break."  I've seen it used to rive shingles with a fro and to rive out chair parts.  It's used a support when you use a fro to split the wood.  Very effective for this purpose but not sure how effective it would be for using as a sawbuck.
