Hi all , I bought 2 gilts , 2 barrows the gilts gained much faster. close to 40 lbs diff. in weight at 4 months.
Have to think castration slows them down.
The breed is Berkshire .
Going to raise the boys without castration , just separate them from the gals .
Feed was soymeal with hay and a slash of molasses once or 2 x a week .
As far as rabbits eating there own poo , they produce 2 kinds off poo , the second one is very necessary for the well being of the rabbit that s the one the eat . You could say it is very similar to a cow chewing its cod , the poo contains protein and vitamins.
