From my perspective as a retired researcher, any data (calories, nutrient content, etc.) should have some external verification or it becomes an approximation/guess of the actual values. Depending on how detailed you want to take this, an approximation may be good enough. BTW having a control plot is a great idea and essential to the whole process.

You may find through testing that nutrient density is much higher in these crops versus conventional versions, which would be a fantastic data point. The downside of testing is the cost for bomb calorimetry and nutrient testing, so if you go that route, only select samples should be tested to keep costs down.

This looks like a really interesting experiment.[/quote]

Speaking of nutrient density, can anybody tell me where to find science on the difference in nutrients between organic, conventional and preferably permaculture. Also on how this has changed in the past decades/ventury?

An idea came up:
My old Mercedes 508 Light truck, around 1975, had 12V electrics, but used a relay to create 24V when starting the engine.
Would 12V in my tractor serve as softstart, going back to 24V when its moving?
If Amps grow too much in 12V mode, maybe a seperat larger fuse during start, could do the trick?
As for current limiting during normal work, a large Amp meter in front of the driver, combined with a 100Amp fuse, may do the trick?
Any thoughts?

Being in Europe, I may be misinformed. But do you guys really use Amazon? I had the impression they are treating their staff like  sh**, that they cause small businesses to break down, thus hurting your local community?

I'm going to try buckwheat for the first time this year. I've heard it grows fast and is a good dynamic accumulator, is a good cover crop, and has tasty seeds too!

Somme find Buckwhat a problem if allowed to seed. You may want to seed it where you can cut/clip all the way around it?
