Well, I did find an area in Southern Nebraska that has some trees but I think I will just go ahead and order from the MDC. I've always had them as a last resort, its just that I wanted to try my hands at getting the seed for free. I even called a few farmers in Kansas who have the trees on their land but was met with suspicion as to collecting the seed so I'll probably just save the heartache and buy them online. Of all of the state nurseries out there, MDC seems the most user friendly to me. I appreciate all of the helpful answers! :)
