You need to get below the freeze depth to really do any good.

Thanks Mike, I will repost in greenhouse forum. The garage doors will open and close by using garage door openers controled via thermostat between glazing and door. All of the glazing will be sealed off from rest of greenhouse when doors are down.Kinda like putting plexiglass sealed to the outside of your garage.
Since i doentneed the insulation factor of twin or triple wall poly would glass be better as the glazing hence more light transmission?

Hello,
My wife wants to grow year round in zone 5b. Im in the planning stages of 2 greenhouses. The first one is pretty straight forward defuzed tempered glass roof with twin wall poly sides already have materials purchased.
The second greenhouse alot more complicated the winter greenhouse.I have a monosloped solar shed that faces south with no walls (just legs)9 ft tall. The legs are 6x6 @ 7 ft appart .I wanted frame it in and put glazing on the outside of the 6x6 and put r12 insulated garage doors on the inside of the 6x6. Would the transparency of glass be better than poly since the garge doors are to be my insulation? If i put the glazing at 90degrees the garage doors will work but dont know if they will with the glazing angled at the suggested 40 degrees latitude plus 15degrees so 55 also that will incroach on the county easement.
