We had a similar situation, pregnancy and homesteading came close in time. I was quite active through pregnancy and wouldn't change that. With a new baby I got basics done, but not the extra projects, until a bit later.
Our babies are 20 months apart. It was hard, but I wouldn't change it for the world! They entertain each other and play all day and my husband and I can be very productive now, thye help a lot too! They are 4 and 5 now.
I am a La Leche League leader and babywearing enthusiast. Baby should always be above the breasts, except when you stop to nurse, then they go right back up. I see lots of babes too low and too loose in carriers which can be dangerous and extra hard on the back, especially when we are doing work around the property.
Family is most important to me. I know we will always be growing and changing our homestead, it is a journey not a destination for us.
