Guineas are good option if and only if you have a little flock,but not for a big flock especially if you have more residence near by,never do a mistake by breeding and adding flock to your guinea flocks, as probability of male hatch is very less compared to females,males are silent enough but females go louder and will become your night mares,
At first we where to add guineas for repelling snack roaming in chicken brood ,everything went fine till we hatched a new set, hatching's where 100%,and all went good till they grow to a age,being a small area for us to grow them made a great competence for shelter,the elder once started kicking younger once for its territory, months passed the guineas started yelling at us especially in chorus stating(bachaee....bachaee....!!!),even i thought it was for food as a fight but days started to get terrible as all the day from dawn to dusk it started yelling and screaming ,if one starts the whole new batch joins with chorus till the end they get satisfied ,for every 10 minutes this was their routine yelling crazy ,i tried separating them but the decibels raised wilder and stronger than before,sound by morning and sound sleep by night was my routine,but guineas changed their plan to finish me,after 4 months from birth these guineas gone savage making all my dreams disappear, they started their chorus even by the night and all our neighbors started yelling at us for their lost sleep, as the scream of their noise was so clear and horrible for more than 200msq of area ,from then every night gone terrible till we sell those new buds of guineas.
so my kind advice is to maintain a little flock with 3 to 4 guineas as max, guineas eggs are strong and good for health , better eat them or sell them but don't hatch them until you have no trouble with your neighbors , i know guineas are fantastic in their job , but when it comes to an entertainment for guineas after job they will make you go mad and crazy.
