I get confinement feeder pigs and put them on dirt to feed out. They regularly exhibit rear leg collapse but usually can get right back up. Osteochondrosis is common especially in certain breeds. Crush up aspirin and mix it in a can of applesauce and feed it to them. According to my pig guy (his job is quality control over a couple million hogs) this will relieve the inflammation.
