I want to put a fan in the ceiling of the room my wood stove is in, such that it is in the horizontal position blowing air up to the room above it.
I plan to cut out a space in the ceiling near and above the wood stove that will be roughly 14" by 14" between two floor joists to put the fan in. It will be near the corner of the room, and I am hoping to be able to power the fan on the upstairs side of the fan, with a cord from the fan to a nearby outlet on the wall. I plan to have some protective grate on both top and bottom of the fan.
Are there any fans made for this purpose and are DESIGNED to be used in this horizontal position?
Does anybody know of fans manufactured for this purpose and are "rated" to be used in this position?
I do not wish to be the beta tester for a fan that is not "rated" for this position so to all the genius McGyvers out there, please do not suggest just any fan.
