Also, the medical medium has a recipe for essential oils you can diffuse to kill mold spores in the air to protect your health!  Rosemary . . . can't remember the rest.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with mold!  That's no fun!  It's not the most green solution, but the best we've been able to come up with is a continuous running dehumidifier.  We attached a clear PVC tube to the back and let it run into a milk jug in the bathtub (otherwise the water pools and mold itself can grow in the dehumidifier!).  Each night I empty the milk jug.  Been a game changer in our home and we used it successfully for RV living, too.

Blessings!

Ralph Anders wrote:Forgive me, the book suggestion was a lame and unhelpful attempt at suggesting you for places other than Arizona to literally lay down roots.
Its a quick and fun but pulpy read about a likely near future in the southwest.  No place will escape exponential nonlinear climate disruption, but some will be rendered unlivable for portions of the year sooner than others.
The urgency is real.
Apples need between 500-1000 chill hours. Choose one with low chill hours and cross your fingers. We get plenty of chill hours, it's the late freeze or snowstorm in the spring that has affected our trees.
Regardless, they still need water. The industrial corporate farms currently have the cash to keep drilling deeper wells. How low can can you go?

Ralph, please no worries.  I'm grateful for any and all knowledge I can get!  With precious little ones to steward, all these things like water are of great concern to me.  Thanks for the knowledge above!  It's very helpful! Blessings!!!

Hi all!

Thank you so much for reading our post!

We are a vegan family that loves juicing, and we're considering moving to Arizona.  We'd love to be able to grow enough apples (a small orchard, maybe 25 trees or so) to be able to supply ourselves with juice.  Does anyone know if Flagstaff/Sedona would be a good area to grow organically?  Really, anywhere below the 37th parallel without the pest and humidity pressure of the SE would be great!  Any thoughts would be welcome!  Thank you so much!!
