Its a quick and fun but pulpy read about a likely near future in the southwest. No place will escape exponential nonlinear climate disruption, but some will be rendered unlivable for portions of the year sooner than others.
The urgency is real.
Apples need between 500-1000 chill hours. Choose one with low chill hours and cross your fingers. We get plenty of chill hours, it's the late freeze or snowstorm in the spring that has affected our trees.
Regardless, they still need water. The industrial corporate farms currently have the cash to keep drilling deeper wells. How low can can you go?
