After the cover crop I am planning on planting blue stems and switchgrass in the pasture mix.

I do pasture it right now. But most my grass is tall fescue or tall fescue with red clover. So since it is mainly a cool season field get low in the summer and if it dry it just get worst. So I thought I would try to build up the soil and and have a more to graze in the summer.
Thanks

Sorry I did not put enough information on my post.
Included Species: Millet, Braco Mustard, Abyssinian Cabbage, Cowpeas, Sunn Hemp,
Forage Sorghum, Flax-seed, Spring Pea, Black Oat, Sunflower, Phacelia, Berseem
Clover, Persian Clover, Lifago Buckwheat, T-raptor Rape, Nitro Radish.
I live in Southern Indiana I believe the zone is  USDA Hardiness Zone 7a.
This fall I am going to plant to blend for next spring to graze and then replant a summer cover crop to graze.
Then after doing this for 3 years I put it back into pasture.
Thank you

I been thinking about planting into a pasture without any burn down just no- till it in. I going to plant this field in spring and fall for next 3 years to build up soil. Plus I am going to graze the cover crops I used a 16 seed mix. Anyone ever try this and have any tips?
Thank you for any help.
