Just go for it. Even if you can only manage 1 day. Go out with nothing and see how long you can stay out there without hurting yourself.

I am a 20 year old girl. I have done 2 days survival with nothing but a bikini (and a friend). Best experience of my life. Just wait for warm weather then go out and stop when you feel like you might die (for me it was approaching the 2nd night without having managed to get a water source other than licking the dew off grass in the morning).

You prep and practice forever. Going out and trying full surviva is the quickest way to figure out what you need to work on. Also it makes you want to practice. There is no failure. There are only lessons. And regardless of how it goes it will be one hell of a lesson

(However fire off the landscape and water are the 2 hardest things and also super crucial, especially in places where water relies on fire. Get really good at hand drill, it will be your friend. Its really dang hard to get a bowdrill string. Also learn to fold pine or birch bark into containers. You can boil water in them)

Okay second edit based on what other people have said: make sure you start in easy, safe conditions. Leave your car nearby or a pile of emergency gear just in case (wool blanket, water and water filters, soups, food, knife, first aid supplies, etc), and so that you have something to go back to. Make sure someone knows where you are etc

Also, the ecological niche that human beings fill is shapers of the evironment. Doing survival doesnt mean hacking down whatever you need to to survive, it means understanding the ecology of a landscape and taking care of it. Dont cut down the best sapling, cut the one in an overgrown area that is already damaged and malnourished. Dont take every berry, etc. Try only to do what will make the area more healthy and beautiful. Youre a gardener not a locust <3

Good luck
