Caraganas are used as a wind break in the prairie provinces in Canada. We refer to them as a Siberian weed. They grow tremendously fast, and when the pods are mature they split open and spread their seeds. Someone asked me the other day if they are edible, so I found this site. I grew up with these and never heard of anyone eating them. Will have to try.
