My Dear Dad, epitome of "Green Acres", has several acres in Mid-Southern NC, which he's been establishing as his lifelong dream of an organic/pesticide-free micro-farm since last year. I helped him back in the late 70's-early 80's when he tried the same thing larger-scale, with solar and alternative oil products to boot--he definitely knows his "green".
He's 80 years old, and may have bitten off a bit more than he can chew with this project, although the chickens seem to be doing well--he's had quite the egg production!
He needs some help, and does not mind at all teaching what he knows, although kind of resents having people tell him how he should be doing things...
