Hi All

We have a unknown company name and sell an unusually name product.

If our references weren't enough to stop the naysayers, we just came out in one of the most reputable magazines. Please find our listing in the August/September 2014 issue of Mother Earth News. Article is entitled "Best Summer Cover Crops" and sunn hemp is the last section and we are listed as the only source for certified organic 'Tropic Sun'

We have a very limited supply left and want as many different people to try it.

Thank you

Starting May 2014 we will have what we believe to be the first certified organic sunn hemp.......in the world???!!

We will continue selling the all natural variety alongside the certified organic one so make sure when you purchase, it says certified organic if that is what you want.

Hi all. I'm back again. Love this site.

Well, staying on the topic of 'Tropic Sun' sunn hemp, I created a Youtube video tonight entitled 'Tropic Sun' The Ultimate in Cover Crops. It was made for all of you who are kinda like me who rather watch tv than read a book. Please check it out. A lot of great information on our product that hardly anyone knows about, but all you farmers, home gardeners, and deer food plot guys can benefit from.

We are harvesting right now and seed is readily available....until we run out.

Thank you and have a great season.

It's been a while since I've been on this site, and I thank Steve for getting me back on.

Thank you Steve for confirming Hancock seed's variety for me. We are an honest, small company just trying to share a great product with great customers.

As far as the difference in color, I cannot say. We bought a pound sold locally (not from Hancock) originating from Africa, I believe. It looked identical and we destroyed it soon after to prevent contamination.

I don't feel that you can test for purity at this time.

All I can say is that we try hard to keep the integrity of our name and products we sell. If there is any doubt about whether our seed is 'Tropic Sun', please check with our foundation seed supplier, the USDA NRCS here on the island Molokai.

If you have any other questions, I'll be glad to answer them. Contact me at info@molokaiseedcompany.com

Thank you, Aloha, and Have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Turkey better be in the refrigerator by now:)

As of Today we have only a few hundred pounds of seed left.

We have sold seed across the nation this season.

We have someone growing it as far north as Sunapee New Hampshire.

And we give great customer service.

Hi John,

Please state information that is accurate. Please have a resource proving that they sell 'Tropic Sun' and not some other sunn Hemp that may be toxic to livestock and poultry. And are you sure it is grown in the USA?

It was never mentioned that what they sell is 'Tropic Sun'. Yes, it is implied. But often is the case where sunn hemps use the research done on'Tropic Sun' to sell their product.

A lot of foreign countries produce sunn hemp that is sold in the United States so be careful.

We work with the USDA office that produced the 'Tropic Sun' cultivar. So we would know best who else is growing 'Tropic Sun' as they would need to eventually get the seed or information from one of us. Please don't tarnish our company or the work of the USDA NRCS. 'Tropic Sun' seed is hard to get. sunn hemp seed on the other hand can be found everywhere.

If the USDA doesn't know about them, then it is probably not 'Tropic Sun'.

The USDA puts out the noxious weed list, yet the USDA is promoting one of the plants on the list. How can this be? Email me at info@molokaiseedcompany.com The more you know about our product, the more you will see the difference.

Ok I'm back after a brief vacation.

Website is www.molokaiseedcompany.com

You will not find this seed anywhere else. If so, make them prove it is 'Tropic Sun', they got the seed from the USDA NRCS, it is grown all natural, and pesticide free.

This is the real deal. The true 'Tropic Sun' will not produce seed above 28 degrees latitude. This is unlike all other sunn hemps that you can find in the market. This variety has all the research to back it up. It will grow virtually anywhere. We don't expect our seed to last long. And if you don't get some this year, please come back next year. We will keep expanding operations until we feel demand is met.

You have got to try this green manure/ cover crop and see the difference!!!

Thank you

Hi all

For the first time in June 2012 we will have available 'Tropic Sun' sunn hemp seeds.  Now this is the seed you read about but since there is never any available, you never get a chance to use it.  Until now.

Our seed is untreated, and non-GMO.  Our seed stock is pure 'Tropic Sun' obtained as a cultivar release directly from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.  Our sunn hemp variety is the only one grown in the USA and is non-toxic to livestock and poultry.  It adds 137+ lbs of pure nitrogen per acre, 2+ tons of organic matter per acre, and reduces plant parasitic nematode populations in a crop rotation system.  In addition 'Tropic Sun' is beneficial in weed control, soil erosion, conserve soil moisture, improve the infiltration of water, slow release of nutrients, etc.
Don't get 'Tropic Sun' confused with other sunn hemps (imported) that have tarnished it's name.  Our product is unique to sunn hemps and cover crops alike.  You may not find 'Tropic Sun' seed anywhere else.
We think it's the best cover crop/green manure around!
