Yea... No. Really? It can cause hallucinations? I think I'll just add more coconut oil...But, thanks though for the help. I'll be giving it to a friend of mine . I'll tell her what you said.

Or find eggs and squish them gently so not to damage leaves.
I put this just in case, but since you say the leaves are being eaten, it doesn't really sound like aphids, does it? You might have a case of thirsty ants. I've heard a few complaints lately of plants doing the un-thinkable in order to get to the water in the plant. Maybe you could try watering your ants? Someone posted on another forum that it worked for them. Good luck to you and I wish I had more to offer.

I have been making medicine from the plantain plant. My last batch I used olive oil, coconut oil and lard. Diffrent mixes. A friend brought me a bucket of tupelo honey wax? It's got what appears to be honey and honey combs? It kinda looks like fish scales in oil.... It feels like oil not sticky like honey. I guess I am suppose to be able to thicken the salve with it. Can anyone tell me what I should be doing with it? The fun of staring at it has worn off.

I don't have a friend to ask and it's kinda tough to identify my plants with no name searching the internet. I really wish I could take walks with someone who knows... I am located in North Florida 20 minutes from beaches. The area I live in has swamps, river , lakes and ponds. I include this in case it may help in recommending books. Thank you in advance,
Angel

Thank you Morgan for the link. I noticed the same as Jeanine. Over consumption of some types are bad news. So... If I trust this guys knowledge, and I'm inclined to, can the plant handle me removing the smaller leaves or will it stop producing peas if I mess with it?

Hey everbody. The other day, a friend came by with a friend of hers from South Africa. He began to point out and explain to me how they cook the leaves of my cow peas. I want to harvest them but I am not sure if it will cause any interferance with the plants production. He's gone and I cann't ask. The young leaves are what I am after right now. Later ,I will boil then dehydrate mature leaves. I will be picking my first mess of peas in a day or so. Do you think I could take the tender leaves? I read somewhere a plant could handle 30 percent leaf loss with no problems and mine have little to no loss. Any advice here?

Today, while helping my husband on a job, I saw a plant that looked like it was edible. Because it was a foreclosed home and I might not be able to go back, I pulled up the whole plant. 10-15 of them. After some research I think it is wide leaf plantain. Are there any poisonous look a likes? I bet there has been good discussions on here about them but search wasn't much help. I am VERY new to foraging. I don't want to kill me. Help appreciated.
